Latest project

While I was working on the Bonnie painting, the heads of the Relay For Life team at work approached me with an idea.  One of our co-workers, who was actually the person who helped me through my first day at then MBNA, and who has continued to be a total sweetheart, is now facing her second bout with cancer.  She is involved with the Relay, and also happens to be an enormous Elvis fan.  Bigger than a big fan.  Elvis.

So.. the idea.

They wanted me to photoshop together a picture of her and Elvis, but the only picture that they had of her was not the greatest, plus I'd be lucky to find an Elvis to match.  So, then the thought was to make it look like he was at the Relay, photoshop-style, then print it out and have everyone on the Relay team sign it.  At the time, since Bonnie's painting had taken a decent turn, I had another idea.

After days spent scouring for a decent pic that we could all (mostly) agree on, I came up with one that had to be colorized as well as his outfit changed a smidge to be able to make it Relay related, and knew I had to add in the hand-strung, light-up HOPE sign that is the trademark of the Relay.

The plan is to present her with it after the Survivor Dinner at the Relay.

Oh, and Elvis' eyes were wonky in the photo.  What's up with that?

Crappy photos ahoy!  By the way, this is my first time painting a portrait, and of all the subjects to start with....

If these are crappy photos, then it must look even cooler in person! Be sure to keep us posted. :)

Thank you. I'll have to remember to take my camera for when it's presented. :)
