Rick's spotty appy horse gets Adequan injections.
Rick's spotty torti cat now gets them too.
Adequan has recently been approved for use in cats, and the vet - upon seeing Bonnie walk at last night's check-up - asked us if we had ever heard of this thing called Adequan. Let's see....
Her old cat is on it and it has made a huge difference. Now Bonnie has started on it as well. Boo is around 17, mostly deaf now, her eyes are getting cloudy, her thyroid has gone nutty, her kidneys are unhappy, and her joints are creaky. Hopefully, she'll get the bounce back in her step like the vet's cat.
Of course, the "canine" Adequan is almost 3x more expensive than the "equine", but what are you going to do? We can't call Gene's vet and ask them to fill Boo's prescription.
And the best part? I'm giving Boo her injections. Yep, me.

The Internet (COTH) has told me that you can, in fact, inject equine Adequan in your creaky human flesh and see similar miraculous results. It's awesome that it actually works on cats too - poor cats are so fragile and they miss out on the good drugs so often. I hope both the spotties stay limber!
