Gene Day!

Why not.  It's Gene Day in my blog.

At 18 y/old, when we were leasing him at our first barn.  It was love at first sight.

After several months of leasing, we bought him and left the barn less than a week later.  We were waiting for the purchase to be final.  Then began the long road of putting this guy back together.  He had bad teeth, bad feet, and bad joints.  The extra helping of Appy-tude was a bonus.  Here he sees a chiropractor for the first time.

Gene was enjoying life.

And he found someone to love him.  Aww.

But he also gave back while offering a nice view on the world.

And he found a little brother to boss him around, although it's obvious that he could rule all if he felt like doing the paperwork.

Gene, the horse who in his past competed Western Pleasure, who jumped 4'2", who fox hunted, who did yet hated dressage, who did competitive trail rides, who pulled both 2 and 4 wheel carts, who competed cross country now probably feels retired as a trail horse who is frequently stuffed with cookies.  He's earned his "retirement."
