dentist!

First, we got two HEPA filters today in anticipation of my mother's cat-sitting duties for her favorite allergens.  So as not to kill my mum, our house is now humming and the air is a-circulating and a-cleaning.

The one that we got for the living room managed to clear up my nose within a minute of turning it on.  Wicked.

Back to horses.

We want to move our horses' floats to the fall so that we don't get hit by both them and spring shots at about the same time anymore, so we decided to have Krystin out this fall for a float on Gene and a check on Peanut.  I wanted her out in Nov, but circumstances made it so that she wouldn't be coming out until my bday on the 23rd.  Yesterday, while wandering around Fair Hill with the horses, we got a call from her saying she was in the area and would we like her to stop by?  Keen.

First, she looked at Gene.  She said his teeth shouldn't be touched and that they don't need a thing done.  He'll be fine to go until next fall.  Peanut was the same, except she wanted to take his incisors down.  Peanut, however, had different ideas and wouldn't stop nodding his head.  Well, no biggie, she'll take care of him when she comes in fall and he gets a dose of happy juice.

I told her she does her job too well.

I'm just thrilled that Gene's mouth, being what it is, is ok to go another year.  It'll never be perfect, but what a change from the horse we had to get done every 6 months and we hoped could someday go a year between visits.  :)

Both horses were feeling fabulous as well.  They were bright, agreeable, and happy to explore Fair Hill.  Us clumsy bipeds just followed along wherever we were led.  It was a couple of degrees above freezing and, once again, ours are the only naked horses at the barn.  And, once again, they didn't act the slightest bit chilly.
