Bird nerd: blue edition

My-oh-my, so much to say about the saddle situation.  I do want to get in a picture of the outcome before blathering away.

So, until then, I hit Bombay Hook yesterday and birds in blue were representing.

Blue bird:

Indigo Bunting:

Blue Grosbeak:

Tree Swallow:

The ubiquitous Great Blue Heron, which I don't find blue at all:

And if the great blue heron is allowed to be blue, then damn it the Black-Crowned Night Heron should qualify too (disclaimer, this heron is from a previous trip but tough):

Grumpy Red-Winged Blackbird does not appreciate this plumage-based discrimination.

Grumpy Muskrat just thinks birds are overrated entirely.  Long live mammals.
